October is one of the best times of year to visit Talladega Superspeedway. Fans usually enjoy warm race-day afternoons and cooler evenings, perfect for both the on-track action and the concerts in the infield.

• Daytime highs: upper 70s to low 80s °F (25–28 °C)
• Evening lows: mid-50s to low 60s °F (13–17 °C)

What to expect

• Days are comfortably warm with moderate humidity. Skies are often partly sunny, and while dry weather is common, a quick passing shower isn’t out of the question.
• Once the sun goes down, temperatures drop noticeably. If you’re in the grandstands or walking the midway, a light jacket, hoodie, or flannel is a smart call.

Rain chances

• October is generally drier than summer in Alabama, but Talladega still averages around 3 inches (75 mm) of rain for the month.
• Brief showers or an isolated thunderstorm can pop up, most often in the afternoon. Rain delays aren’t as common this time of year, but packing a poncho or rain jacket is still a good idea.

Wind

• Breezes at the track usually run light to moderate (5–10 mph / 8–16 km/h). Gusts can kick up ahead of a storm, but overall wind isn’t a major factor for fans in the stands.
