RULES FOR VISITORS

As with all NASCAR events, guests at Talladega Superspeedway are expected to follow the track’s policies to help create a safe and enjoyable environment. Security staff will be on hand throughout the weekend to assist and ensure compliance.

Prohibited items

For everyone’s comfort and safety, certain items are not permitted inside the venue. Anything that could pose a risk, cause a disturbance, or create a hazard is strictly forbidden. This also includes merchandise or tickets intended for resale. All visitors must pass through security screening at the entrances. Refusing screening or violating the rules may lead to denied entry without a refund.

To avoid problems, check Talladega Superspeedway’s official prohibited items list before arriving. Below are some of the most common examples (the complete list is longer):

  • Aerosol cans (other than sunscreen, bug spray, or sanitizer)
  • Air horns or other noisemakers
  • Balloons, beach balls, frisbees, or projectiles
  • Bicycles, skateboards, roller skates, hoverboards
  • Any type of chair, including folding chairs
  • Clothing considered obscene or offensive
  • Foam or hard-sided coolers
  • Confederate flag displays
  • Dry ice
  • Drugs or illegal substances
  • Firearms or weapons of any kind
  • Fireworks
  • Glass or ceramic containers
  • Knives longer than 3 inches (closed) or 6 inches (open)
  • Laser pointers
  • Monopods or tripods of any size
  • Seat cushions with metal frames
  • Tools, including multi-tools with large blades
  • Drones or other unmanned aircraft

Allowed items

To make entry faster and your day easier, bring only the essentials: your tickets, mobile phone, a charger or spare batteries, cash, and photo ID (children should have some form of identification too). Packing light helps you clear security quickly and focus on enjoying the racing.

Items permitted inside the speedway include:

  • Bags (maximum of 2 per person, each not exceeding 18" x 18" x 14")
  • Cameras, binoculars, scanners, and headsets (that can be worn around the neck, belt, or carried in a bag)
  • Cigarettes and lighters
  • Clothing and blankets
  • Flags (nationality flags on a pencil-sized wooden stick; must not block others’ view)
  • Food and beverages (pre-packaged and sealed; includes alcoholic beverages in non-glass containers, unless prohibited by state law)
  • Ice
  • Insulated cups (up to 64 oz.)
  • iPads, tablets, and laptop computers
  • Seat cushions without metal components
  • Service animals
  • Soft-sided coolers (no larger than 14" x 14" x 14")
  • Strollers
  • Sunscreen, sunblock, hand sanitizer, and bug spray (aerosol, gel, or liquid forms)
